Between now and June 15th, small businesses with “no more than 100 employees and gross sales revenue of at least $3 million in 2009 will qualify for the Entrepreneur of 2010 award. The Emerging Entrepreneur of 2010 is open to companies that have been in business for less than four years with no more than 12 employees and posted at least $350,000 in gross sales revenue for 2009.” A third category, College Entrepreneur of 2010, will award $5,000 in startup capital to the winner. In addition, winners of all three categories will be profiled in an issue of Entrepreneur Magazine.

The e200 initiative includes 13 weekly three-hour training sessions dealing with a variety of topics, including management, growth strategies, market development, strategic planning, government contracting and access to capital. Participants must attend all classes and complete all homework assignments.
An introductory program will be held at 7 a.m. March 22 in the Parrish Building, 737 Union, Room 101, at Southwest Tennessee Community College.Classes, which begin April 21 and run through Nov. 3, will be held at the Renaissance Center, 555 Beale.
